The Citrus Way

Our approach is refreshingly different. Everything we do is evidence-based and connected to your real life so movement feels achievable and sustainable. Our take on rehabilitation is that it should show you a brighter path forward, not keep you in a loop, so you can squeeze more out of life.

Common Conditions

learn more
Musculoskeletal Conditions

Disorders affecting bones, muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons can make movement painful and challenging, whether from sudden injuries or longer-term conditions. We use evidence-based exercise and holistic care to help you rebuild strength, improve function, and feel better moving again.

women’s health

Women have specific biological, social and cultural experiences that influence our health across our life’s seasons. Our approach is personalised, evidence-based, strength-focused and sustainable so that even through changes, you can keep moving and feeling in your element.

Autoimmune Conditions

Autoimmune conditions occur when instead of protecting against infection, the immune system targets the body’s healthy cells. This can lead to inflammation and other symptoms. Through evidence-based exercise, we help you manage symptoms and support your quality of life.

Neurological Conditions

Disorders affecting the nervous system (the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves) can influence movement, balance, strength, and everyday function. With care and expertise, we can help you manage symptoms, like fatigue and coordination challenges, build functional capacity, and maintain independence.

Mental Health

Mental health challenges can take the spark out of your energy and routine. We use exercise as a practical tool to help rebuild structure, regulate mood, strengthen the body, and create small, steady wins that add up to brighter days.

Metabolic Health

Metabolic conditions influence how the body processes energy, like an engine that isn’t running efficiently. This can affect strength, stamina, and long-term health. With evidence-based exercise and dietetics, we support metabolic function, healthy habits and body composition so things run more smoothly.

Respiratory Conditions

When the respiratory system has to work overtime to deliver oxygen, life can feel heavier and harder. Exercise-based rehabilitation helps strengthen respiratory muscles and lung capacity, taking some of that load off so you can breathe easier and move in greater comfort.

Cardiovascular Conditions

As exercise physiologists, movement is at the heart (pun intended) of how we manage cardiovascular conditions. With structured strength and conditioning work, we enhance heart function and circulation and build endurance so you enjoy life without missing a beat.

Older Adults

Structured strength and balance training is one of the most effective strategies for keeping you sure-footed as you age. Let’s work together to maintain your capabilities, reduce the risk of trips and tumbles, and help you stay active and steady in everyday life.

Cancer Rehabilitation

Exercise can significantly improve the effectiveness and uptake of chemotherapy. It can also ground you during treatment cycles and post-surgery. We individualise and closely monitor your program to help you manage fatigue, keep your strength, sleep better, and feel more capable returning to daily life.

Youth Development

Adolescence is when we lay the building blocks for confident movement. With supervised, age-appropriate training, we help young people develop bone density, coordination, strength and movement skills as well as find a zest for exercise that becomes the foundation for healthy, active lives.

“Citrus Rehab have made a big difference to my positive rehab after a long illness. I feel at home in exercise classes with others who don’t have these challenges. Good balance of personal attention and doing my program . Both Kayla and Eiland are fantastic - motivational, empathetic but always pushing you to your personal best.”

Leanne Ward

“The whole team at Citrus has created such a positive, encouraging environment. I always feel listened to, cared for, and empowered. I’m so grateful for their support and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to any mums-to-be or anyone in need of thoughtful, holistic, expert rehabilitation.”

Alysha Mcfarlane

“Citrus Rehabilitation is phenomenal! I cannot recommend them highly enough. Eiland is truly incredible and she has helped me immensely. I would be lost without her.”

What is the difference between Exercise physiology and Physiotherapy?

While both professions work closely together to support your health and recovery, the way we approach your care can look a little different.

Physiotherapy often focuses on diagnosing and treating acute injuries, pain, and movement limitations through hands on treatment, assessment, and early stage rehabilitation.

Exercise Physiology focuses on using tailored exercise as medicine to help manage chronic health conditions, build strength and confidence, improve long term function, and bridge the gap between rehabilitation and returning to the things they love.

Think of it this way: Physio may help calm things down, while Exercise Physiology helps you build back up. Together they make the perfect blend!

What do I wear to my initial consultation?

We recommend wearing something comfortable that you can move freely in! Depending on your goals, injury, or condition, your Exercise Physiologist or Physiotherapist may guide you through a few movement-based assessments to help us better understand how your body is moving and how we can best support you. Think activewear, comfy clothing, and enclosed shoes. Comfort is always best!

Can my bub come to my appointment?

Of course, Bubs are always welcome! We understand that flexibility is important, especially during the postpartum season. We simply ask that, where possible, you bring a pram or carrier option to help keep your little one safe and comfortable if we head into the gym space. This also allows your practitioner to focus on supporting you throughout your session.

Do you treat males as well?

Absolutely! While Citrus has a strong focus on women’s health, our team is experienced in supporting people of all genders.

Does your team do home visits?

Our team doesn’t offer home visits! We’ve designed our clinic space and gym to give you the best possible Citrus experience, with access to all the equipment, movement space, and hands-on support your practitioner may need.

If getting into the clinic is tricky, don’t stress — Telehealth is available across all of our services, so we can still support you from the comfort of home.

Do I need a referral to access any of your services?

Nope! No referral required to squeeze your way into Citrus. You can book directly with any of our practitioners whenever you’re ready.

If you do have a referral from your GP, specialist, or healthcare team, simply send it over toadmin@citrusrehab.com.auand we’ll handle the rest.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Life happens, we totally get it! We simply ask for at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made within 48 hours will incur the full consultation fee.

This gives us enough time to offer your appointment to another client who may be eagerly waiting to squeeze into the clinic, while also helping our practitioners make the best use of their time.

If you’re feeling under the weather, please let us know as early as possible so we can help find another suitable time for you.

How do I pay for my consultation?

At Citrus, we like to keep things smooth, simple, and stress free! While you may not spot a physical receptionist in the clinic, our lovely admin team are working hard behind the scenes remotely to keep everything running seamlessly.

Payments are processed securely through our online billing system, Tyro Health. Your payment details will be entered when completing your initial forms, and your consultation fee will be processed 24 hours prior to your appointment. Once payment has been squeezed through successfully, you’ll receive a receipt via email.

Claiming with private health? Easy, your rebate will be processed before the remaining consultation amount is charged. If you’re using a Medicare referral, rebates are typically back in your account within 24–48 business hours.

Tyro Health is a trusted and secure payment platform. If you’d like to learn more about their security measures, you can read more here:https://www.tyrohealth.com/security/
